Beautiful Inspiration: Red, White, and Blue

In honor of Independence Day tomorrow, I want to share favourite red, white, and blue color palettes.

This room incorporates red only as an accent color via the flowers; however, they make quite a statement. Wouldn’t you agree?  How fantastic is the wallpaper?

I love the ease of this room.  Again, the red accent pieces make quite an impact.

There are several things that caught my eye in this nautical theme living room – the clever use of an anchor for a magazine rack and wood frame to elongate the existing small window.  Those glass bottles will hold quite message, non?

I’m a big fan of Klismos chairs.  Although I’m not particularly fond of this shade of blue, I would not turn this chair away.

Once again, an iconic chair styled in a non-traditional way.  I love the pop of yellow the flowers bring!

What are your thoughts on this color scheme?

Red, White, and Blue Parfaits

Whether you will be celebrating the 4th or not, this recipe is a perfect summertime treat!

  • one pint each (organic) blueberries and raspberries
  • about 15-20 meringue cookies
  • 1 pint heavy cream, whipped (sugar & vanilla optional)
  •

Place raspberries in the bottom of a glass, followed by a spoonful of  cream.

Add crushed meringue cookies, or any that you like, followed by a spoonful of whipped cream.
Top with blueberries.  Finish with blueberries and a single raspberry.
